What Causes Toenail Fungus
Nail (toenail) fungus is medically know as Onychomycosis. The fungus is actually an organism that eats the keratin it finds in your toenails and fingernail. The redness and swelling around the yellow toenail is called Onychia. It usually ends up with a pusy infectious goo or the nail splitting or shedding.
