My Ugly Toenails
C’mon, toenails aren’t exactly the most alluring feature on a person. That being said, really ugly toenails cause a repulsive nature to most people.
If, like me, your nails are getting thicker, turning yellow, shedding and splitting and starting to get red, pusy and infected around the skin edges, you’ve probably got nail fungus.

I tried filling up a small basin with vinegar and soaking my infected toenails for about 10 minutes per day for 2 weeks. It definitely helped with the uncomfortable itching, but it also made the rest of the skin on my foot feel “tough”. After 2 weeks of trying this home remedy I stopped.

What Causes Nails To Turn Yellow?
There are a few very uncommon causes that can cause your toenail to turn yellow. The most common reason is nail fungus called Onychomycosis. This is a bacteria that is living of some of the properties of nails and is actually creating the color. You can get one toenail start to turn and then the fungus can move to your entire foot. You might also find that the fungus causes a single yellow streak up one toe.
